Hi, I'm Liz Ruse.

I live in the artistic hub of Victoria, Australia, in the rural town of Castlemaine. I'm fortunate to be surrounded by an inspiring mix of cafe's, shops, gallery's and rolling hills covered in a tapestry of orchards and vineyards.

THE RAISING OF LIZ
I was born and raised in the burbs of Melbourne by parents who were avid DIYers. Mum was a kindergarten teacher and enthusiast of all things homemade. Shelves laden with preserves and jams, a table covered in the latest DIY creation or craft and a veggie patch buzzing with bees from my father’s hive were the norm. Dad was an electrician by day and talented handyman/DIYer after hours. His shed was like Aladins cave full of wonderful bits and pieces.

ADVENTURE
When I was eleven my family left this ideal home and made a new life in New Guinea as missionaries for 2 years.
Oh the joy!
The adventure, the beautiful people, the beach, the jungle and the freedom!
This awe inspiring land set my heart pumping with a love that imbues everything I have done ever since.
Simplicity, mama nature, colour and travel became my deep loves coupled together with my inherited love for DIY, veggie patch and home made preserves.

PATCHWORK OF JOBS
I've had a fun and interesting patchwork of jobs including owning my own lolly shop, fabric shop, sandwich bar, doing the books for a fashion house, and selling my art.  I design and sell bright comfortable unique fashion at  Lillybet Clothing
